How to Edit Existing Side Bar

Some of the pages on your website will use a right or left column (also known as the sidebar ) to display certain bits of information or sub-navigation menus.  This information is called widgets and is found in a separate area of your website.

To edit your sidebar, kindly logged in to your WordPress Dashboard using your username and password. Click on the Appearance tab and choose Widgets from the option.

You will now see a list of available widgets, and on the right-hand side of the page is your Default Sidebar (this title can vary, depending on your theme). This is a section that appears either on the right or left hand column of your website or blog.

Listed under the sidebar are the widgets that are currently active in use on your sidebar. Click the down arrows on each widget to view and edit. Once you edit the widget, it will automatically update in the sidebar section of your website or blog.

To add or remove a widget to your sidebar, simply drag and drop into or from the Main Sidebar section.

ADDING A NEW WIDGET

Login to your Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets.

You will see a list of 20 or so "Available Widgets" on the left and on the right will be your "Sidebar", which contains widgets that are actively used on your website.

To add a new widget, simply choose a Widget from the Available Widgets and drag it to the sidebar where you wish it to appear. There might be more than one sidebar option, so ask us if you need help.

Once in place, WordPress automatically updates the Theme.

Click SAVE once everything is finalised.
