How to Fix WordPress Website Not Updating in the Front-end

Lately, we have clients asking reason as to why their WordPress website not updating immediately. Mostly, any changes they made to widgets, pages or new posts  are not reflecting on the front-end. In this article, we will tell you the best way to fix WordPress site not refreshing immediately.

Why is my Website Not Updating?

It is important to know the reason why your WordPress website is not Updating right away. 

There are few reasons behind this. But most commonly it is because of your browser's cache. Most of the time your browser especially Google Chrome, it sometimes show you the cached copy of your website instead of the updated website. To fix this issue, we suggests 3 solutions:

1. Clearing your Browser's Cache (Windows)

            1a. Open your website on a browser. Once opened, click the 3 dotted vertical icon located at the top-right corner of your screen and click on History. You can also use the shortcut key Ctrl+H to show the History page of your browser directly.



           1b. Click on Clear Browsing Data once inside the History page.

 

           1c. Under Clear browsing data dialog box, tick Cached images and files and don't forget to change the Time Range. Once finish, hit on Clear data button.



          1d. Go back to your website's homepage and refresh the page. 

           If the above steps are not working, we can try doing solution #2.

2. Using CMD (Command Prompt).

          2a. Click your keyboard's Windows key and type in CMD.



          2b. In the Command Prompt dialog box, type in ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter.



              If DNS Resolver Cache is working, the message below will appear.



          2c. Go back to your website's homepage and refresh the page.

3. Clear your WP Rocket's Cache

          3a. Login to your website's back-end and click on WP Rocket function located at the top of the dashboard.



          3b. Click on Clear Cache from the options under WP Rocket. 

 

The above solutions should solve all your caching issues and should thereon fix all the web changes update accordingly.
